[ portrait artist ]

Jolie Goodman is a figurative painter. She trained at Camberwell and Chelsea Schools of Art where she completed a BA and MA in Fine Art. For over a decade Jolie has worked both as an artist and in mental health.

Jolie draws in charcoal and pen. Her paintings are oil on canvas, are bold, and expressive. She relishes the quality of oil paint and vivid colour. Her subjects include television presenter, Trisha Goddard and the founder of the charity Kids Company, Camila Batmanghelidjh.

For portraits her method of working is to spend time with a sitter, make drawings and take photos. She then uses this material to paint her instinctive response to the individual. Jolie carries out private commissions and seeks out subjects which move and inspired her.

In addition Jolie undertakes creative projects and evaluations for organisations.

In spring 2013 Jolie was commissioned by the charity Action for Children to co-produce and draw this booklet. Find out more about this project.
